4. Email Communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email, by emailing [email protected], or by calling us. We may still send you non-promotional messages related to an active quote or order.

5. Phone Calls, Call Recording & Chat

Call tracking and recording

We use call tracking phone numbers, provided through HighLevel, to understand which ads and pages lead customers to call us. Calls to and from C. Winters Supply may be recorded and monitored for quality assurance, training, record-keeping, and to accurately capture the details of your quote or order. When we record a call, we collect your phone number, the date, time, and length of the call, the recording itself, and any information you share during the call. By continuing a call after hearing a recording notice, you consent to the call being recorded. If you do not want your call recorded, please tell us at the start of the call, or email us instead.

Calls and texts using automated technology

If you give us your phone number and consent, we may contact you by phone call or text message, including calls and messages made with automated technology or prerecorded or artificial voice, about your quote, order, delivery, and (if you opted in) promotions. You can revoke this consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling us during a call, or contacting us as described in Section 15. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Live chat

The Site includes a chat feature, provided through HighLevel, that lets you send us messages. When you use it, we collect the content of your messages and any contact information you provide, along with technical information such as the page you were on and the time of the conversation. Chat conversations are stored in our CRM and may be reviewed by our team to respond to you. Messages may be answered by our team or by automated responses. Please do not share sensitive information such as payment card numbers or Social Security numbers through chat.

6. Cookies & Analytics

Cookies are small data files stored on your browser or device. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working properly, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and support our advertising.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to track and report Site traffic. Google may use the data collected to contextualize and personalize ads in its own advertising network. You can prevent Google Analytics from using your information by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block cookies, some parts of the Site may not work as intended.

We advertise our business online and use remarketing services to show ads to people who have previously visited the Site. Our advertising partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to the Site and other websites so they can show you relevant ads and help us measure the results of our campaigns.

Customer lists and conversion data

To measure the results of our ads and to show relevant ads to existing and potential customers, we may share certain contact information, such as your email address and phone number, with Google and Meta. This includes:

  • Google Enhanced Conversions and Meta Conversions API: when you submit a form or contact us, information such as your email address and phone number may be sent to Google and Meta in hashed (encrypted) form so they can match it to their accounts and tell us which ads led to your inquiry.
  • Google Customer Match and Meta Custom Audiences: we may upload hashed lists of customer and lead contact information to Google and Meta to show you our ads, to exclude you from ads, or to find new people with similar interests ("lookalike" or "similar" audiences).

Google and Meta use this information according to their own terms and privacy policies, linked above. If you do not want your information used this way, contact us at [email protected] or (201) 261-3970 and we will remove you from future customer list uploads.

You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from many participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org.

8. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information in the following situations:

  • Service providers: companies that perform services for us, such as our CRM and messaging platform (HighLevel), website hosting, analytics (Google Analytics), and advertising (Google Ads, Meta). They may only use your information to provide services to us.
  • Advertising platforms: Google and Meta, including hashed contact information shared for conversion measurement and customer list audiences, as described in Section 7.
  • Delivery and fulfillment: drivers, haulers, or partners who help us deliver materials to your address.
  • Legal reasons: when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of C. Winters Supply, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business.
  • With your consent: in any other situation where you have given us permission.

9. Data Retention & Security

We keep personal information for as long as needed to respond to your requests, provide our services, keep business records, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. We then delete or anonymize it. Call recordings and chat transcripts are kept only as long as reasonably needed for quality, training, and order records.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

This section applies to residents of California and supplements the rest of this policy, as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA").

Categories of personal information we collect

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email address, phone number, postal address, IP address); customer records (contact and delivery details); commercial information (materials requested and quotes); internet or network activity (browsing and interaction data on the Site, and chat messages); audio and electronic information (recordings of phone calls); and approximate geolocation (derived from IP address). We collect this information from you directly, from your device, and from our analytics and advertising partners, for the purposes described in Section 2. We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

Sale and sharing

We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of advertising and remarketing cookies from Google and Meta, and our sharing of hashed contact information with them for conversion measurement and customer list audiences, may be considered "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA. You have the right to opt out of this sharing by contacting us as described below, by adjusting your cookie settings, or by enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we will honor. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Your rights

Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to
  • Access a copy of the specific personal information we have about you
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require this right)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights

How to exercise your rights

To make a request, email us at [email protected] or call us at (201) 261-3970. We will verify your identity by matching information you provide with information we have on file, and we will respond within 45 days (or notify you if we need an additional 45 days). You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent's authorization and verify your identity directly.

11. Do Not Track (CalOPPA)

In accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act ("CalOPPA"), you may visit the Site anonymously. This policy is linked from our Site and includes the word "Privacy," and it can be easily found on any page that links to it. We will notify you of any changes to this policy on this page.

How we respond to Do Not Track signals: Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") setting. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as described in Section 10. Third parties, such as our analytics and advertising partners, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites.

You can review and change your personal information by contacting us by email or phone as listed below.

12. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

The Site may contain links to other websites, such as social media pages or supplier sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
